--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationThe Republic of Matai, a small island nation in the Tanoa Archipelago, underwent a regime change following a military coup. The U.S. previously provided the Mataian government with advanced air defense systems as part of regional security agreements. However, the new regime, under General Keanu Vatao, has destabilized the region by leveraging these systems for aggression, including the recent downing of a reconnaissance aircraft in international airspace. Global condemnation has mounted, but overt military action is politically untenable. To maintain plausible deniability, a U.S. Navy SEAL team is tasked with infiltrating Tanoa and neutralizing the air defenses, crippling the regime’s military dominance.
Friendly Forces
SEAL Team Omega ("DAGGER-4-2") consists of 8 highly trained operators specialising in maritime and jungle infiltration, demolition, and covert reconnaissance. The team is structured into two fire teams, supported by a mix of demolition, reconnaissance, and medical specialists. Mission-specific gear includes suppressed weapons, rebreathers, and SDVs for stealth insertion.
Supporting Assets
Other BLUFOR in the region includes a U.S. Navy carrier strike group centered around the USS Freedom, providing logistical and emergency extraction support, as well as a nearby CIA safehouse on the Tanoa mainland coordinating regional intelligence and potential contingency aid. This layered support ensures a robust, if deniable, operational presence.
Enemy Forces
The Republic of Matai Armed Forces (RMAF) includes 5,000 soldiers trained in jungle warfare, with key assets like U.S.-supplied Patriot air defense systems, mobile MANPADS, and surveillance drones. Infantry and special forces guard critical sites, supported by coastal patrol boats and local militia providing manpower. The enemy is expected to maintain strict security, conduct frequent patrols, and deploy rapid-response units if alarms are triggered, aiming to secure their air defenses and eliminate intruders swiftly.
Mission
TaskingDAGGER 4-2 is tasked with infiltrating deep into enemy territory on the Tanoa mainland to neutralize three key air defense sites operated by the Republic of Matai Armed Forces (RMAF). The primary objective is to disable the U.S.-supplied Patriot SAM systems without detection, crippling the regime's ability to project air superiority and respond to regional threats. Secondary objectives include gathering intelligence and avoiding civilian casualties to maintain plausible deniability. The team must exfiltrate safely while adapting to dynamic threats, including the likely compromise of their planned extraction route.
End-state
Mission Success: DAGGER 4-2 disables all three air defense systems, exfiltrates safely, and leaves no trace of U.S. involvement. The regime's air defenses are crippled, reducing their military capability and influence in the region. Mission Failure: Air defenses remain operational, DAGGER 4-2 suffers casualties or compromise, and the operation risks exposing U.S. involvement, escalating tensions and strengthening the regime's position.
Execution
Commander's IntentDAGGER 4-2 will neutralize the Republic of Matai’s air defense network to degrade the regime’s military capabilities and reduce regional threats. The operation must be executed with precision and stealth, avoiding detection to ensure plausible deniability. Exfiltration is critical to preserving operational integrity and preventing any exposure of U.S. involvement.
Tasks and Sequencing
Insertion
- DAGGER 4-2 deploys from the USS Freedom via Swimmer Delivery Vehicles (SDVs), approaching the Tanoa coastline under cover of darkness.
- The team will dismount 500 meters offshore and swim to a secluded landing zone (LZ) in dive gear.
- They will navigate inland using jungle terrain for concealment and avoid patrols.
- Locate and neutralize three key air defense sites: Site Alpha (Radar Station), Site Bravo (Jungle Battery), and Site Charlie (Coastal SAM Site).
- Ensure no detection of U.S. involvement.
- Exfiltrate safely while adapting to dynamic threats.
- Return to the SDVs at the original drop-off point.
- If compromised, execute contingency plans for alternative extraction via enemy boats, helicopter pick-up at a secured landing zone (LZ), or overland escape to a friendly asset, such as a CIA safehouse.
Administration/Logistics
ResupplyThere will be no resupply during the mission. DAGGER 4-2 must carry all necessary ammunition, equipment, and supplies for the entire operation.
Medical
There are no dedicated medevac assets or casualty collection points (CCPs) for this operation. DAGGER 4-2 must handle any casualties internally and continue the mission. Medical procedures are limited to combat medic care using team-carried kits. - Medical support will be conducted in field (PAK in Field)
Rules of Engagement
DAGGER 4-2 is to avoid engagement unless mission compromise is imminent. Lethal force is authorized only in self-defense or to protect the mission.
Fire Support Plan
None available to maintain mission deniability.
Close Air Support
None available to maintain mission deniability.
