--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationWith the Saint-Pierre beachhead secured and friendly platoons making landings to provide further manpower, Blacksmith must now seize the command post at Montfort Castle. In order to further secure a satisfactory company line with sister platoons to the East, Blacksmith also requires the town of Regina- another Everon Military Force garrison. Anvil platoon has been dispatched after a quick re-kit in Saint-Pierre. Sister platoon Hammer is holding position in the town of Vernon at Victor Line after a heavy mass casualty from friendly fire.
Friendly Forces
Rifle infantry platoon supported by airborne logistics.
Supporting Assets
Friendly forces holding the MSR at Victor Line.
Enemy Forces
Everon Military Force- Mechanised and motorised infantry supplied with Soviet equipment.
Mission
TaskingPrimary Tasking: -Secure Montfort Castle -Secure the town of Regina. Secondary Tasking: -Sweep clean the ridgeline North-West of Montfort Castle. Tertiary Tasking: -Obtain any available intelligence through found documentation or HUMINT about enemy force composition, locations and readiness.
End-state
Town of Regina secured for ENDEX.
Execution
Commander's IntentThe purpose of this mission is to decisively secure Southeast Everon by dismantling the remnants of Soviet C2 in the area and effecting a defensive position in the town of Regina in anticipation of a counterattack.
Tasks and Sequencing
PHASE 0: Staging
ALL CALLSIGNS prepare at the assembly area in Saint-Pierre for an advance on and CQB in Montfort Castle.
SHIELD 4 prepares a logistics train ahead of time to be brought in to Regina via the coastal road for hasty defences.
Further preparations must be made for a timely LOGPAK in Montfort Castle following the engagement there: heliborne CASEVAC and reinserts, and supplies via the southeast road and/or helicopter as suitable.
PHASE 1: Objective C
ANVIL conducts an uphill assault on Montfort Castle ("Objective C").
Disciplined, snappy manoeuvres are paramount to seize OBJ C.
On the advance:
ANVIL 1 takes the right flank.
ANVIL 2 takes the left flank.
ANVIL 3 brings up the centre, ready to lay down immediate suppressive fire on contact.
The platoon must be ready for a meeting engagement in the woods.
On contact:
The element under fire or closest to the contact immediately establishes a fixing BOF.
ANVIL 3 moves to this element ASAP and achieves fire superiority. This frees that element for manoeuvres.
The remaining element attempts to flank the contact.
ANVIL platoon aims to take the castle from the west. It is likely the only point of entry and heavily defended.
In case of overwhelming resistance, the platoon disengages downhill and takes the long way around the east.
Either way, the assault is conducted in the same manner.
PHASE 2: Movement Castle Ridge
A meeting engagement is highly likely during an advance along Castle Ridge.
The platoon forms a a vee: ANVIL 1 on the right, ANVIL 2 on the left, ANVIL 3 trailing in the centre.
See Phase 1 for actions on contact.
The platoon must be vigilant at all times and maintain line of sight to other elements for good mutual support.
PHASE 3: Objective D
The town of Regina ("Objective D") must be seized to secure the west flank of our staging area in Saint-Pierre. A Soviet counterattack is expected soon, with the supporting effort along this coastline.
Following the advance along Castle Ridge to WP1, Anvil pivots south-southwest.
At a suitable decision point, one of two options take place:
OPT 1:
ANVIL assaults from the south via the bridge.
ANVIL 1 flanks west via the radio tower into AP1.
ANVIL 2 & 3 hook north into AP2.
ANVIL clears Regina in this constellation south to north.
OPT 2:
ANVIL assaults from the east via the OP into AP3.
ANVIL 3 establishes BASE OF FIRE.
ANVIL 1 & 2 coordinate bounding manoeuvres north to south, clearing as they go with mutual support.
DEFENCE
Following the successful occupation of Regina, Anvil takes on a defensive posture to prepare for a likely hasty counterattack from the north.
Logistics via SHIELD are brought in to establish a hasty defensive line.
Administration/Logistics
ResupplySHIELD is responsible for all logistics and re-inserts. The Radio Operator has an option to deploy their radio as a limited forward respawn. This disables their long-range communications. Account for this or bring a back-up. Re-inserts are ferried from RP1 to a suitable location as determined by ANVIL 8/9 in the field. Resupply operations are conducted by helicopter. Once the castle is secured, the southeast road is available and Route Charlie becomes active.
Medical
All fielded medics must have the following equipment: - Bandages - Saline - Morphine - Epinephrine - Medkit The medkit, while supplies are available, dispenses consumables. It also heals injuries up to 50%. Severities over this must arrange MEDEVAC via SHIELD.
Rules of Engagement
In accordance with SOP
Fire Support Plan
Naval 127 mm bombardment, incl. smoke, is available upon request via BLACKSMITH.
Close Air Support
SHIELD can conduct limited close air support with M60 door guns.
