--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationGreen Valley is secure. Our side of the frontline has been reinforced and our supply situation is stabilising. Blacksmith intends to secure the South-Eastern landmass on which we are currently based- and that means securing two vital towns at the bottleneck between the main island landmasses, Levie and Laruns. Both have been used by the Soviet-backed everon national guard throughout their coup, as supply hubs and armoured staging areas and are therefore expected to be well defended. A special forces detachment assaulted the Levie military base last night and retrieved intelligence before destroying the majority of the base along with enemy armour with the use of naval artillery. Whilst the base is now decidedly inoperable, enemy scouting patrols may be in the area South of Levie and around the base.
Friendly Forces
Hammer infantry platoon with attached motorised transport. --Supported by Mortar attachment Kilo
Supporting Assets
Local insurgent activity has been noted during an incident around Skua Point. Whilst their presence is not expected it is not impossible.
Enemy Forces
Everon national guard with soviet-supplied weaponry and vehicles.
Mission
TaskingBlacksmith wishes to secure the S/E landmass of Everon by establishing defensive positions within the bottleneck between the two main landmasses. To that end, Hammer platoon is directed to assault and secure the towns of Levie and Laruns as seen fit by the platoon commander. Should it be required, naval artillery support may also be requisitioned but fire mission availability will be limited due to a continued siege on the fortified islands to the S/W of Everon. Fortified and layered defensive positions are expected to have been constructed by defending forces in anticipation of our advance. Hammer will demonstrate to the enemy that their best prepared defences will not sufficiently halt our advance, and in doing so hopefully deal a blow to enemy morale. Primary Tasking -Secure the town of Levie -Secure the town of Laruns -Sweep or dismantle enemy defensive positions overlooking the towns. Secondary Tasking -Secure any further possible intelligence on enemy strength or disposition, including through HUMINT.
End-state
Towns of Levie and Laruns secure. A relief platoon will oversee consolidation of the position whilst Hammer falls back from the front line.
Execution
Commander's IntentThe purpose of this mission is to break through the Everon bottleneck and establish a salient by way of Levie -> Laruns.
Tasks and Sequencing
scheme of fires to follow in FRAGORD PHASE 0 All elements prepare a light motorised convoy in St Pierre MOB. Hammer elements each self-motorise as such: HAMMER 9 & 3: M1025 Humvee .50 cal HAMMER 1 & 2: M939 5-tonne truck All teams cross the LD fully prepared for an initial assault on the remnant but likely destroyed military base to be secured, and a foothold in Levie. Convoy order HAMMER 3 (armed) - HAMMER 1 - Hammer 9 (armed) - Hammer 2 - Kilo - Banner
PHASE 1
Convoy embarks for the primary dismount point at an orchard on the left-hand side of St Pierre Pass.
If exposed to enemy fire, activate secondary dismount 300 m back on the right-hand side, compound in defilade.
Kilo and Banner establish a temporary firing position.
HAMMER platoon moves to WP 1A for initial observation of the military base and the planned attack route into Levie via the base and AP1.
If route not feasible, we move via WP1B.
Banner and Kilo establish around WP1A once secured.
AP A: HAMMER 3 establishes BOF
HAMMER 1 manoeuvres into the first building abut the woods, establish a foothold and orientate west along the MSR.
HAMMER 2 bounds in on the right flank orientated north.
Platoon enacts an overall successive bounding strategy to take the town building by building.
Enemy defensive positions in the open southeast of Levie must be cleared. Due to incomplete intel, we prepare for a flanking movement into these positions once Levie is secured.
PHASE 2
From WP2 in the woods north of Levie
Hammer platoon sweeps northwards in close line abreast.
Hammer 1: right flank
Hammer 2: left flank
Hammer 3, 9: centre
Once abeam the hostile fortified positions, pivot for a flanking manoeuvre.
Hammer 1 and 3: Final orientation post-sweep should be WP3.
Platoon further moves to contact north through the woods.
Maintain LOS and mutual support throughout.
Hammer 1 and 3 prepare AP B for an assault into Laruns.
Hammer 2 observes left flank: stand by for AP B or better infil for bounding.
Once Laruns is secured, establish defensive posture westwards until relieved.
Administration/Logistics
ResupplyHammer elements are self-motorised in Humvees and trucks for transport and emergency supply. Banner mobilises further assets to establish and restock a suitable FARP. FARPs handle resupply, reinforcements / reinsertions and must be defensible, thus acting as a known RV.
Medical
All fielded medics must have the following equipment: - Bandages - Saline - Morphine - Epinephrine - Medkit The medkit, while supplies are available, dispenses consumables. It also heals injuries up to 50%. Severities over this must arrange MEDEVAC via BANNER.
Rules of Engagement
