--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationIntelligence indicates that Russian interest in the Arctic has increased, and the region has become the Kremlin’s top strategic priority. In response, the Nordic Defence Alliance (NDA) has organised a joint training exercise in northern Norway with Finnish counterparts. The 2nd Jegerbataljonen (GSV) will join a small fire team of Finnish reserves in the fjords of northern Norway to practise manoeuvres against unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs).
OPFOR RP will play a Finnish Fireteam during an FTX acting as OPFOR RP. They will remain in character for a large portion of the missionFive-Star Rating System
Combat Intensity:☆☆Roleplay Emphasis:☆☆Difficulty:☆☆☆
Friendly Forces
A small squad element with a combat engineer and a SUAV operator using Black Hornet drones mounted upon snowmobiles
Supporting Assets
No known OPFOR in the region. Finnish forces clothed in M05 camo acting as OPFOR. Note from LGM: AI Uncon will be on for the sole purpose of Finnish Opfor players, rather than shouting bang bang to give players an enhanced satisfaction
Mission
TaskingLink up with the Finnish forces in the forest training ground. Conduct a search and destroy mission of an emcampmeant patrolled by 2x UGVs (Finish forces will act as OPFOR) (Because the UGVs are high-value assets, we aim to avoid damaging them. Instead of using anti-tank weapons, the exercise will focus on identification, tracking, suppression, and non-destructive neutralisation techniques to simulate disabling the platforms.) Mission goals: Maintain the element of surprise Demonstrate effective use of the terrain to our advantage Conduct flanking and bounding manoeuvres to evade the UGVs, enabling a combat engineer to successfully plant a charge on the drone. fOR THE SAKE OF THIS MISSION TRACER ROUNDS ARE SIMULATION AMMUNITION To ensure this FTX is enjoyable and runs smoothly, a degree of suspension of disbelief is required. Due to Arma’s limitations, actions such as shouting “bang” or repeatedly playing dead are not practical or engaging. The following rules will therefore apply: • Tracer rounds represent simulated ammunition. Any injuries sustained from tracer rounds will be cleared at FTX ENDX. A dedicated GM will be monitoring simulated ammunition usage—if an enemy does not go down, check your ammunition type. • Anyone found carrying live rounds will be removed immediately from the FTX. • Any injury caused by live rounds will result in an immediate stoppage, while the casualty is treated and MERT is called in. ⸻ Suspension of Disbelief – Medical & Gameplay • Medical treatment should be conducted as per normal procedures. • Zeus heals may be used if injuries are too severe; however, these will only be applied after a delay to simulate realistic response times. • The UGV cannot be disabled by small-arms fire and must be dealt with through the intended manual disable method.
End-state
UGVs Disabled, encampment found and secured, and Finnish forces drunk under the table.
Execution
Commander's IntentIntent is to get some good practice on maneuvers against modern equipment
Tasks and Sequencing
Exact movement plan will be made in field after the brief with the Finnish is over and the area has been scouted Basic plan 1. Locate enemy encampment 2. LION 1-2 Distract enemy UGV 3. LION 1-1 Flanks UGV and Combat engineer places simulation charge* 4. ALL CALLSIGNS take cover 5. LION 1-1 Combat engineer detonates charge Note: Simulation charge is a Door Popper from Breach mod Additional Note: There are some limitations with Arma, keep some suspension of disbelief
Administration/Logistics
ResupplyWhile its not expected to be needed, For emergencies live bullets will be carried in the snow scooters
Medical
Medical support will be conducted in field (PAK in Field) Since its a training excercise, any injuries sustained during it are all simulated and will be cleared upon endex (of the ftx) - Medics are still to treat any injuries as if it was a standard operation
