--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationUNITAF forces have begun expanding operations across the Lythium Valley following the destruction of Taliban anti-aircraft positions in the surrounding high ground. With coalition air support now able to operate more freely, patrols and reconnaissance flights have identified increased insurgent movement along known smuggling routes running through the valley. Signals intelligence and local reporting suggest that Taliban elements are attempting to relocate weapons and supplies deeper into the hills following recent coalition pressure. These movements are believed to include small convoys transporting munitions, explosives, and heavy weapons between temporary caches and storage sites hidden in remote compounds and cave networks. Intercepted communications indicate that at least one convoy moving through the valley is carrying sensitive documents and operational materials linked to Taliban leadership elements operating in the area. Interdicting this movement provides an opportunity not only to disrupt insurgent logistics but also to capture intelligence that may reveal the location of larger weapons stockpiles supporting Taliban operations throughout Lythium.
Five-Star Rating System

Friendly Forces
1x Air Mobile Infantry Platoon
Supporting Assets
Coalition aviation remains available for emergency close air support and medical evacuation if required. ISR coverage may provide intermittent updates on enemy movement but is limited by terrain and weather conditions. Additional UNITAF forces continue conducting patrols across the valley floor but will not manoeuvre into the area of operations unless directed.
Enemy Forces
Taliban fighters in the Lythium Valley maintain strong familiarity with local terrain and frequently move equipment using small convoys and technical vehicles. Convoy security elements are typically composed of small arms teams supported by machine guns mounted on vehicles. Weapons shipments may include explosives, heavy weapons, and documents or electronic media used for coordination between Taliban cells operating across Helmand. Enemy Most Likely COA A Taliban convoy will move along established smuggling routes through the valley under light security. Upon contact, escort elements will attempt to break contact or scatter into nearby terrain while protecting key vehicles. Surviving fighters may attempt to destroy sensitive materials or withdraw toward nearby villages or hill positions. Enemy Most Dangerous COA The convoy is heavily guarded and supported by nearby insurgent elements positioned to respond quickly to contact. Upon ambush, enemy reinforcements from nearby compounds or hill positions attempt to encircle UNITAF elements, turning the ambush site into a prolonged engagement.
Mission
TaskingUNITAF elements will establish an ambush along a known Taliban movement route and destroy an identified insurgent convoy transporting weapons and supplies through the Lythium Valley. Following the engagement, UNITAF will locate and secure any intelligence or documents recovered from the convoy in order to identify the location of a larger Taliban weapons stockpile. Once the cache location is confirmed, UNITAF will manoeuvre to the site and destroy the weapons and munitions stored there. 2up Intent To degrade Taliban logistical networks within the Lythium Valley by intercepting weapons movements, capturing intelligence on insurgent supply routes, and destroying stockpiled equipment used to support attacks across the region. 1up Intent To disrupt Taliban resupply operations by destroying a weapons convoy, exploiting captured intelligence, and eliminating a confirmed insurgent weapons cache within the area of operations.
End-state
The Taliban convoy is destroyed, intelligence materials are recovered and exploited, the identified weapons stockpile is located and destroyed, and UNITAF elements withdraw from the area after successfully disrupting insurgent supply operations within the valley.
Execution
Commander's IntentIntent is to disrupt insurgent logistics efforts in the AO
Tasks and Sequencing
PHASE 0 ALL CALLSIGNS will ensure sufficiently prepared combat load and mount in helicopter after briefing. PHASE 1 Upon dismount at LZ-Tea ALL CALLSIGNS will establish ARD until drone is in the air, at which point BRAVO 1-1 & 1-2 will start moving towards ambush position while BRAVO 1 HQ scouts area with drone to ensure its safe to start planting explosives. Upon safe call the buddy team with combat engineer from each fireteam will move to centerpoint and start planting explosives according to explosives plan, while the rest of the fireteams dig in to prepare the fighting positions and keep an eye out for scouts and other hostiles. Once drone operator reports the convoy arriving ALL CALLSIGNS will get heads down and hide until convoy hits the SLAM, with exception of LAT who will be ready in case front/rear vic doesnt get blown up. If those vics do blow up any remaining armored vehicles will be hit by LAT. In case of no armored VICs LAT will be saved in case of QRF Once all/most contact has been defeated, machinegun buddy teams will remain on overwatch while the remaining elements pushes down to check for intel. When all cars/personnel has been checked and all intel has been gathered, ALL CALLSIGNS will fall back to LZ-Primary or LZ-Secondary for pickup If contact is taken while moving, we will do fireteam by fireteam bounding. If contact is overwhelming we will either dig in at LZ or start moving east and attempt to cross the mountain range depending on situation PHASE 2 When in the air ALL CALLSIGNS will get re-armed and ready to assault the weapons stockpile Further planning must be done in field after identification of weapons stockpile. Explosives plan: - Starting from centerpoint each combat engineer places demo charges every 15m on an alternating side of the road unless there are rocks or other debris to conceal it on the road itself - BRAVO 1-1 will work left/rearwards while BRAVO 1-2 will work right/forwards along the road - BRAVO 1-2 will place a SLAM in IR/tripwire mode on either side of the road at the end to act as the initiating charge - Both combat engineers bring 10x demo blocks, BRAVO 1-2 CE will aditionally bring 2x SLAMS - Both combat engineers must retain minimum 2x demo blocks for later use
Administration/Logistics
ResupplyALL CALLSIGNS will cross the LD fully loaded according to the units SOP. These supplies will come from the staging area. This basic load is expected to sustain the team until we get picked up after ambush and can resupply from the helicopter.
Medical
Medical support will be conducted in field (PAK in Field) MEDEVAC on standby in case of MASSCAS
