__________________________________________________________________________________________________________ (From Polish Armed Forces "Operation Hetman":) " After a long period of political unrest between Poland and Belarus, tensions came to a boil when the Polish Defense Secretary of State's residence was raided and barricaded by Belarusian-backed Troops, leaving the official dead and the home liberated by opposing special forces. Belarus, denying the initial allegations of involvement, called for reparations and seizure of towns close to the border, and opened its borders for Russian Forces to bolster its own. In response to the buildup of russian armed forces along the Suwałki Gap, Poland called on other NATO members to aid in the defense of its homeland. “It is currently unknown when the AFRF will start to cross the border, the only thing we can be sure of is that they will.” the Polish commander of the region, nicknamed “Sokół“, told the press. According to both the UK and German Spokespeople, it will take a considerable amount of time to mobilize its troops to end the stalemate along the Suwałki Gap... " (Situation from the Polish "Svarog Main Command Center" on the Belarusian boarder during operation hetman, not our own operation.) __________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ---------- SITREP: ---------- During the early events of "Operation Hetman" led by Polish Armed Forces, the united kingdom had already been mobilizing troops and armour at a training capacity within the baltic sates (most notably Estonia) for the potential eventuality of russian invasion. That eventuality is now. The Russians have launched a full scale invasion into each Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland. we are currently isolated on the western Estonian coast and the initial nato plan of operation is a full scale withdrawal of troops and regroup as masses of russian troops, armour and air has poured into the region. despite valiant efforts, the baltic states are collapsing. Already stationed deep within the area of operations, the mercian regiment of the 12th Armoured Brigade Combat Team has been tasked with delaying the enemy advance into Estonia for long enough to aid in the withdrawal of allied forces from the coastlines to a nearby royal navy carrier fleet in the baltic sea. Bishop platoon alongside a Challenger 2E detachment of the King's Royal Hussars Regiment, have both been tasked with progressively defending and withdrawing from the masses of russian troops flooding the region, buying their allies as much time as possible to withdraw, before the platoon can do so themselves... __________________________________________________________________________________________________________
OPERATION NOTES: - startex is at dusk but we are not expecting to go into dark night. - progressively defending-withdrawing-defending through marked phaselines and rendezvous points. - pre-made ammunition resupply at each defense position, hence no logistics. - enemy artillery will be used to disturb or destroy our positions. - if players are beyond saving from their injuries, they will be "kia'd" by zeus or medics and quickly able to teleport to the next relevant fighting position, to keep in the action. ORBAT Notes: - suas operator is equipped with "GX Drones: Hunter-SP" launcher and will likely be required to strike enemy artilery, armour and infantry groups. - combat engineers are expected to set up rapid defenses, trap vacating positions, destroy enemy disabled vehicles and partially repair the allied mbt. - the tank crew may be permitted another vehicle if destroyed, however they may also be expected to fight on foot from a certain point of the remaining mission. - the mortar team will be equipped with a 60mm mortar that uses the inbuilt 3cb rangecard and compass. its ammo can be directly loaded by the gunner with "R" and has to be within their inventory or a nearby inventory (including the ground).
(this operation will be a homage from the British perspective to the great campaign that was "operation hetman". the british were in poland during this lore, however we will begin by seeing what became of the baltic states during the massive russian invasion at the beginning of "hetman".)

Friendly Forces
Infantry Platoon with Armoured support 1x Infantry Platoon --1x Mortar team --1x UAV operator 1x Challenger 2 MBT

Supporting Assets
Friendly forces are evacuating from forward posts towards the docks. Evacuation will be operated by Helicopter and Boats, for regroup onboard the nearby Royal Navy Carrier Fleet. There may be minimal Friendly recon forces ahead of the front line upon arrival, but they are scheduled to evacuate immediately.

Enemy Forces
Modern Russian Mechanised infantry with armour and artillery support. Expect enemy recon units to be followed by masses of IFV/APCs, multiple tanks, heavy use of conventional and rocket artillery, and sporadic airborne units.

Mission

Tasking
Defend evacuating allied forces from a well supported Russian Attack, from progressive preorganised positions, to eventually withdraw towards the docks for extract to the carrier fleet.

End-state
After withstanding enemy attacks for enough time as to allow the friendly forces to evacuate, withdraw to the docks to exfiltrate via boat to the aforementioned carrier fleet.

Execution

Commander's Intent
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: Defend "Veli Zal Naval Base" from waves of enemy attacks for as long as possible, to ensure the withdrawing of allied forces from the region. SECONDARY OBJECTIVE: Inflict as much damage as possible on attacking enemy forces in order to cripple their advances as a later date. TERTIARY OBJECTIVE: Withdraw from the region along with allied forces. Sabotage and destroy supplies, vehicles and supporting assets where able.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Tasks and Sequencing
the primary russian attack doctrine is: strike->attack->strike forces should expect large artillery barrages before masses of enemy advancements, followed by further indirect strikes when their attacks fail. upon the commander's discretion, friendly forces must to withdraw to their next defensive positions before the second wave of strikes arrives. small red circles mark platoon resupply positions on the map (ammuniton, medical, explosives, etc.) whilst small red crosses mark BISHOP 3 mortar positions, with ammunition.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________
PHASE-1: After equipping and briefing at "Veli Zal Naval Base", all units will proceed northwards to RV-1, using the western road. Knight 9 will lead the convoy whilst Bishop 1 and Bishop 2 will drive their own transport of MTVR trucks which BISHOP 3 and BISHOP 9 will also mount. The convoy will stop as it passes near RV-2, allowing BISHOP 3 to dismount and begin entrenching mortars. Upon dismount, the platoon will begin setting up defenses across RV-1 at the Platoon Commander's discretion (likely with BISHOP 1 defending the western side and BISHOP 2 the eastern side). The platoon will then await for the enemy barrage and attack, before the platoon commander will order weapons green. KNIGHT 9 should attempt to stay covered and concealed up to this point. PHASE-2: Once PL-1 becomes unsustainable due to overwhelming enemy force or indirect fire, the platoon with withdraw at the commander's discretion to RV-2 and set up similar defenses at PL-2. BISHOP 3 is to provide cover fire and smoke for the withdrawal of the platoon, before moving to RV-3 to continue support. KNIGHT 9 is to defend from enemy armour and potentially enemy air within the longer angles of enemy attack. PHASE-3: Once PL-2 becomes unsustainable due to overwhelming enemy force or indirect fire, the platoon with withdraw at the commander's discretion. The intention of this phase is to simultaneously defend the area from flanking forces, as well as saturate the main advancing enemy troops with friendly indirect fire. BISHOP 1 is to move towards RV-3-WHISKY where they will be isolated but with initial MBT support in defending the enemy western-flanking forces. BISHOP 2 is to move towards RV-3-ECHO where they will be isolated in defending the enemy eastern-flanking forces. BISHOP 3 is to provide cover fire and smoke for the withdrawal of the platoon, before moving to RV-4-ECHO to continue support. KNIGHT 9 is to withdraw to RV-3-WHISKY to initially support BISHOP 1, but should be expected to maneuver eastwards to support the rest of the platoon if required. PHASE-4: Once PL-3 becomes unsustainable due to overwhelming enemy force or indirect fire, the platoon with withdraw at the commander's discretion and set up similar defenses at PL-4. Upon request, sections may be permitted to withdraw from PL-3 early if unsustainable before the platoon withdraws. BISHOP 1 is to move towards RV-4-WHISKY where they will be isolated in defending the enemy western-flanking forces. BISHOP 2 is to move towards RV-4-ECHO where they will be isolated in defending the enemy eastern-flanking forces. BISHOP 3 is to provide cover fire and smoke for the withdrawal of the platoon, before moving to RV-6 to continue support. KNIGHT 9 is to withdraw to PL-4 and should be expected to maneuver eastwards or westwards to support individual sections if required. PHASE-5: Once PL-4 becomes unsustainable due to overwhelming enemy force or indirect fire, the platoon with withdraw at the commander's discretion and set up similar defenses at PL-5. Upon request, sections may be permitted to withdraw from PL-4 early if unsustainable before the platoon withdraws. BISHOP 1 is to move towards RV-5-WHISKY where they will be closer to the platoon in defending the enemy western-flanking forces. BISHOP 2 is to move towards RV-5-ECHO where they will be closer to the platoon in defending the enemy eastern-flanking forces. BISHOP 3 is permitted to hold at RV-6 if desired, however may request to withdraw to RV-7 if needed. KNIGHT 9 is to withdraw to PL-5 and should attempt to find a suitable position to defend the tightening areas. PHASE-6: Once PL-5 becomes unsustainable due to overwhelming enemy force or indirect fire, the platoon with withdraw at the commander's discretion and set up similar defenses at PL-6. BISHOP 1 and BISHOP 2 is to move to RV-6 (an suitable nearby defenses) where they will consolidate their troops from attacking enemy forces. BISHOP 1 focusing west and bishop 2 focusing north. BISHOP 3 is to provide cover fire and smoke for the withdrawal of the platoon, before moving to RV-7 to continue support. KNIGHT 9 is to withdraw to PL-6 and should attempt to find a suitable position to defend the tightening areas. PHASE-7: Once PL-6 becomes unsustainable due to overwhelming enemy force or indirect fire, the platoon with withdraw at the commander's discretion and set up similar defenses at PL-7 The platoon will consolidate within the walls of "veli zal naval base" and defend from enemy attacks for as long as possible before withdrawing to the docks and boarding vessels as fast as possible to withdraw on the marked route to "CHECKMATE Fleet". Combat engineers should be expected to detonate all charges and traps, as well as destroying leftover vehicles and supplies. KNIGHT 9 is expected to scuttle their tank if it is still operational. Once mounted and moving in the vessels, troops should expect to be pursued by invading enemy ground troops, vessels and potentially aircraft. However, anti-air support will be available once at the allied fleet. Once at "CHECKMATE Fleet" the platoon will gently move inside the southern-most carrier before dismounting and moving upstairs for debrief.

Administration/Logistics

Resupply
Resupply: - All logistical support elements are tasked with aiding the evacuation of "Veli Zal Naval Base" and cannot provide resupply. ammunition, explosives, launchers and medical supplies have been dispersed to each RV for squad and platoon rearming. They are marked on the map with little red circles. Combat engineers should rig and destroy these supplies once the position is being abandoned. Repair: - Combat Engineers will be expected to provide partial repair to KNIGHT 9 if required, such as turret and gun damage or engine damage. KNIGHT 9 crew members will be able to replace tracks.

Medical
CCP: - To be organized by platoon medic as required. Should be expected to move on extremely fast if ordered by commander due to enemy threat. Personal Aid Kits: - PAK in field is enabled and kits can be found at each RV.

Rules of Engagement
Captured Persons (CPERS): - We do not have the facilities to accommodate for any cpers and troops should be expected to make and prisoners safe and secure before leaving them in the field. In special circumstances, an individual cpers may be taken back to the carrier group by the platoon (for example, an enemy pilot).

Fire Support Plan
60mm M6 Light Mortar: - BISHOP 3 to liaise with the forward observer to provide fast-paced and regular mortar fire support. Naval Fire support: - Naval fire support may be available upon request if required and may be used to deter enemy forces between PL-3 and PL-4 if BISHOP 3 is already tasked.

Close Air Support
Hunter-SP drones: - UAV operator will be equipped with hunter SP drones and likely tasked with search and destroy of enemy artillery, vehicles or infantry groups. Fixed-wing and rotary close air support: - Most CAS has been tasked in defending polish airspace or withdrawn. some may be available in desperate circumstances.
