Situation

Background Information
Expected Level of Combat : ☆☆☆ Expected Level of RP: ☆☆ Expected Difficulty: ☆☆☆ --- MODERN REFORGER TRIAL - THIS WILL BE WIP --- --- INSPIRED BY TRUE EVENTS - ALTERNATIVE TIMELINE --- --- SEE CONSIDERATIONS --- 2 Weeks following the disastrous Operation Red Wings, US forces in the Kunar Province have been in bitter fighting with Taliban forces throughout the Korengal Valley Just yesterday, an MQ-9 Reaper Drone conducting a reconnaissance mission over the Shuryak Valley was shot down after suffering GPS Guidance failures via suspected Electronic Warfare. This combined with Turbine 33's downing during Operation Red Wings resulting in the deaths of 11 Navy SEALs and 8 Nightstalkers, along with Culture 05's downing last week on Rougal Hill resulting in the deaths of 16 US Marines, 4 US Army Aircrew and Afghan Ambassador to the UK Abdullah Abdullah has resulted in a no-fly zone over Korengal and Shuryak Valley. Before aircraft can be diverted from the Nuristan Province, it has been decided that time is of the essence and a plan must be made now. With ongoing fighting in the Korengal Valley drawing much needed manpower and resources, it has been decided to hand off the mission of recovering the data from the MQ-9 Reaper Drone to the US Marine Raiders, arrived this morning at COP Michigan. As a result of EW, lack of time to properly study the footage and the corruption of the saved file, information on the activity in Shuryak Valley is blurry. It is imperative that MARSOC are able to get the data from the drone and destroy the wreckage. It is understood that data on the drone will reveal the location of the stronghold of the main Taliban Cell operating in the Korengal Valley. The location of the drone has been spotted via Satellite Imagery. It appears to be on a hillside in the South West of Shuryak Valley deep within Tribal Afghani territory. US Marine Recon stationed at OP Eagle have been trading fire with Taliban over the town of Khan Abad, so it is known that Taliban are operating at the mouth of the Valley. Blackwater PMC's are operating in Bar Kanday and have been offering support in maintaining a peace in the region. MARSOC will step off from COP Michigan, move to the Shuryak Valley and as necessary, fight their way to the location of the MQ-9 Reaper Drone. They will recover the data, destroy the drone and use the information gathered to conduct a search and destroy mission.

Friendly Forces
1x Squad of US Marine Raiders (MARSOC)

Supporting Assets
US Marine Raiders (MARSOC) stationed at COP Michigan. Heavy Artillery callsign Steelrain stationed near COP Michigan. US Marine Recon stationed at OP Eagle. Blackwater PMC's operating in Bar Kanday.

Enemy Forces
Due to heavy fighting in the Korengal Valley, it has been speculated that there are 200-300+ Taliban fighters supported by heavy weapons, emplacements and some vehicles. Some of these fighters are the very fighters responsible for the destruction of Turbine 33, Culture 05 and the deaths of many US Serviceman including Special Forces and an Afghani Ambassador. They are under the command of Ahmad Shah.

Mission

Tasking
US MARSOC will be deployed to the Shuryak Valley to conduct a Recon by Fire patrol and locate the MQ-9 Reaper Drone, gather an intel from it and destroy the wreckage. MARSOC will then act on intelligence gathered and attempt to drive Taliban forces out of the Shuryak valley if possible.

End-state
MQ-9 Reaper Drone DSM recovered and wreckage destroyed. MARSOC successfully conduct Recon by Fire and relay information to Guardian

Considerations
Radios: VHF 40, Squad net: Knight 1 - Knight 1-1 - Knight 1-2 VHF 41: Knight 1-1 VHF 42: Knight 1-2 VHF 50: Guardian - Knight 1 Due to the technical limitations we still face (for now) we ask that you adhere to common loadout policies. Any uniforms and vests that are available in the arsenal can be used. Special weapons and backpacks should only be used where neccessary. backpacks may be used by Combat Engineer, Medics, Ammo Bearers, AT and Assistant. Be aware that RHS uses a system called "pouch presets" this allows you to take equipment specific to that vest layout without taking up capcaity. For example there are presets that contain UGL pouches that will only fit... UGLs, the same exists for AR Boxes, magazines, grenades, radios, etc.. For any questions regarding loadouts or other aspects of reforger and the mods, the field leader is happy to help you out.
