Mission

Tasking

Our mission is to deploy an infantry reaction force from COP Verona south-east into a cut-off sector of the red-zone, to wipe out remaining insurgency forces completely. The mission will focus on the Red-Zone sector as seen below in Fig 1, we expect to push the enemy force east towards Sectors Oscar and Sectors Hotel for a final showdown.

Commanders Intent

The commanders intent is to accomplish the mission without friendly or civilian loss of life, or the loss of equipment.

Execution

Tasks and Sequencing

We're going to do this with a full sized infantry platoon comprised of the following elements;

  • Alpha Actual; GCE Lead with Joint Fires Support
  • Alpha 1; Base of Fire Element /w MAT
  • Alpha 2; Manevuer Element
  • Alpha 3; Base of Fire Element /w Engineer / MAT

Plan

1st Platoon will manevuer 1km south of the COP to intercept the red-zone, where the base of fire elements will set up to provide initial reconnaissance toward the east, depending on these reports the plan is to support the maneuver element into Zarath, Alpha 1 will take the north ridge overpatch position, and Alpha 2 and 3 will move methodically via bounding overwatch through Zarath.

1st Platoon will continue east until reaching the target sectors, and the mission is complete when the commander determines that the sector is liberated.

Equipment

Owing to METT-TC variables we will make minimal use of task-force vehicles during this operation, although we will utilise a couple of MRAPs for mobility and CASEVAC operations. However, the full fleet of UNITAF MRAPs are made availible for this operation.
