--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background Information
Enemy Forces
- Due to our leaving of IED's in place when disarming, we suspect a high chance of VBIEDs
- Due to our failure to return captives to the ANA, the enemy has more intelligence on our position
- A number of IED caches were destroyed on the previous deployment, which has reduced the circulation of IEDs, we expect a low chance of IED presence.
- Due to hostile action, the local population mostly oposes our presence, and have been known to throw rocks at friendly forces.
Friendly Forces
- ANA (Afghan National Army) stationed throughout, marked in green on tacmaps
- ANA Convoy, T-62 x 2
- ANA Convoy, MTR x 1 and BTR x 1
- ISAF/NATO Forces stationed north of our AO
Mission
TaskingWe've moved back to FOB Homestead for this mission.
Our mission is to provide infantry support and security to a vital convoy moving down the MSR throughTunkuf and on to a new red-zone FOB. We previously swept the MSR for mines last month but only up to Tunkuf and not beyond, now the ANA is pushing through with MBTs. On reaching Tunkuf on the MSR, UNITAF will de-mount and provide local security to ensure Tunkuf itself is stable, structure entry is only permitted if authorised by the platoon commander.
The convoy will continue along the MSR to an ANA Red Zone base known as Mikis FOB.
While the ANA will take point on this convoy, UNITAF Forces are in control of the movement orders. The convoy will be formed of ANA MBTs, then UNITAF, then the ANA follow-on, MTR and BTR.
Commanders Intent
The commanders intent is to accomplish the mission without friendly or civilian loss of life, or the loss of equipment.
