Situation

Background Information
A Local leader is preparing to make a speech to his citizens regarding the insurgent threat and why it must be removed. The US government are keen that this is publicized and have sent two Journalists to record the event. UNITAF must provide security for the US citizens and for the leader himself during the speech. Intel suggest insurgents may try and stop the event from happening

Supporting Assets
Local SNA forces have set up roadblocks around the area

Enemy Forces
Insurgent forces are expected to be integrated in the crowds and be lightly armed

Mission

Tasking
- Protect US citizens - Provide security for Local leaders Speech

End-state
- US Citizens are safely back at airfield - Local leader completes speech and crowd disperse safely

Execution

Commander's Intent
To protect a local leader while he addresses the public, secure the stage and surrounding areas and to protect the interpreters from any potential insurgent attacks

Tasks and Sequencing
We will mount in vehicles towards the town, which has been cordoned off by SNA forces. From there we will dismount and push towards the location of the rally. We will be required to sweep the area, talk to local population and protect the local leader. We will decide on specifics at the time of the operation due to there being multiple variables. Designated marksmen will be positioned in the town to over watch the area.
