Situation

Background Information
Following an effective Royal Marines assault along the peninsula last mission, another outfit of RM troops are heading straight back out less than an hour after the first endex. Following the probing of the Fortifications to the North, we know that a frontal assault would likely result in heavy casualties. Past the fortification line, the Russian defences are fairly sparse other than two FOBs, the one to the North-West being well-defended and on the apex of a hill. Light patrols are expected throughout the woodland North and North-West of the defensive line, and a vehicle depot to the North may cause problems later in the mission.

Mission

Tasking
Neutralise the Defensive Line blocking access to the mainland from the peninsula, and push further in capturing territory and dismantling enemy infrastructure. Two FOBs in the area form the main resistance you will face, and will both be primary objectives. Primary Tasking -Neutralise the Defensive Line -Assault and capture FOB Alpha -Assault and capture FOB Bravo -Assault and capture the Supply Depot Secondary Tasking -Neutralise the garrison at Tinkanen -Neutralise the Vehicle Depot to the North

Execution

Commander's Intent
The purpose of this mission is to push towards the German frontline so as to create a common allied frontline against the Russians. This will facilitate cooperation and logistical support across the frontlines and between allied forces. At the same time, we will break through the enemy defensive lines north of our current position and two FOBs which currently pose a high threat to our and the Wehrmacht's security. The end state will see all primary objectives completed and the platoon situated in the Muurassounvuori FOB.

Tasks and Sequencing
- Rook 1 will, with support from Bishop, initiate a frontal attack on the enemy defensive lines whilst Rook 2 will move to LZ 1 with RHIBs. The intention here is that Rook 1 attracts enemy fire and attention, whilst Rook 2 stealthily moves behind the lines and attack them from the rear. It is until the attack commences a necessity that Rook 2 remains stealthy, as we must maintain the element of surprise to swiftly deal with the defenders. - Following the successful assault, Rook 1 will move to capture FOB ALPHA, which is close to the defensive lines, whilst Rook 2 moves northwest to intercept any enemy QRF from the nearby Supply Depot and ultimately to assault the Supply Depot itself. - The platoon will then move northwest clearing the area prior on to capture the second FOB in Muurassuonvuori. For this, we will mobilise the entire platoon, with Rook 1 taking the eastern and northeastern flank and Rook 2 taking the south/southwestern flank. Depending on its physical size, the goal is to establish an L-shaped assault on the FOB. If it is of a smaller physical size, tasking might change slightly so that one squad instead assumes defensive position to interdict any incoming QRF. - Additionally and finally, provided sufficient time remains, we will attack the garrison in Tinkanen.
