Situation
Background InformationFor orientation information, please refer to the --> Operation Honeybadger Campaign Briefing <-- After arriving at a newly constructed Forward Operating Base in Tottah Province, at the Afghanistan/Pakistan border. As our new home our first patrol must be to investigate unknown forces in the mountains to the north, watching our every move and secure our outer perimeter.
Friendly Forces
Light Infantry Company based out of FOB Leatherneck.
Supporting Assets
Northern Alliance Fighters, we do not expect to see them in this area.
Enemy Forces
Taliban Forces based in the mountain ranges to the north of FOB Leatherneck, various camps are expected in the valley, and a known checkpoint at Border Checkpoint (OBJ B)
Mission
TaskingOBJ A - Investigate Taliban scouts north of FOB Leatherneck OBJ B - Capture Border Checkpoint OBJ C - Patrol Western MSR Route OBJ D - Assemble Checkpoint Yankee
End-state
After taking OBJ B, regular forces will exfiltrate to FOB Leatherneck.
Execution
Commander's IntentThe purpose of this mission is to setup our initial presence patrols to secure FOB Leatherneck. Taliban scouts have been sighted and must be pushed back, and the mountains north of Leatherneck will be combed for their presence. Equally we will clear the route from Leatherneck to OBJ B on the MSR. While conducting this mission, we must also engage with the local populace to explain our presence.
Tasks and Sequencing
Phase 0 DELTA 1 and DELTA 2 will move out on foot to WP-2A and WP-1A respectively to start foot patrols DELTA 3 will commence MSR patrol from WP-3A DELTA 4 / DELTA 5 will stage from FOB Leatherneck and construct Checkpoint Yankee (OBJ D) Phase 1 DELTA 1 / 2 rout Taliban Camps north past OP-2G and OP-1E DELTA 3 continues patrolling north to WP-3E Phase 2 DELTA 2 and DELTA 3 regroup at WP-3E to plan assault on Taliban position DELTA 1 moves to overwatch at OP-1G
Administration/Logistics
ResupplyWith the exception of engineering support for Delta 3, all logistics and medical support will be conducted via airborne forces, DELTA 5 with support from DELTA 5-1 and DELTA 5-2.
