Situation
Background InformationAfter the assault on the town, enemy forces are pulling out of the port to secure the island to the west. We are to destroy and capture the island to the west
Mission
Execution
Commander's IntentThe purpose of this operation is to flush the enemy out of the southeastern port and establish a foothold on the western island before retreating forces can fully garrison the coast defenses.
Tasks and Sequencing
PHASE 1: Movement to Port - ALL CALLSIGNS Move to port via RP-A & RP-B. -- Convoy order: BAKER 1, BAKER 9, BAKER 2, (Blacksmith 4). - Cavalry breach will be utilized for outer wall access. Blacksmith 4 will utilize M112 charges as contingency.
- Actions on early contact: Push Through.
PHASE 2: Port, East Leg
- BAKER 1 clears along marked alpha sectors.
- BAKER 2 clears along marked bravo sectors.
- BAKER 9 and embedded marksman maintain southeastern security.
-- Speed of sector clearance will prove critical for northern security efforts.
- AAVs and Plt Vic establish northern security.
-- Should northern resistance prove credible, vehicles will withdraw and sectors A1 & B1 will be reclaimed.
- Note: Sectors A1-2 & B1-2 pose friendly fire risks to the north and south.
PHASE 3: Port, North leg
- BAKER 1 & BAKER 2 continue along marked sectors.
- BLACKSMITH 4 stages nearby for expedient repair and demolitions.
PHASE 4: Amphibious Movement Staging
- ALL CALLSIGNS move to RP-C.
- BLACKSMITH 4 organizes platoon transport towards beach landings utilizing LCU-1610 transport.
PHASE 5: Beach Landing
- To soften dug-in positions, BAKER 9 calls for preparatory 155mm HE bombardment of landing sites.
- To screen landing movement, 155mm smoke concludes the artillery fire mission.
-- An Appropriate landing site is selected according to remaining contact density and locations.
- ALL CALLSIGNS stage for phase 6 assault.
- Note: freedom of movement and positioning is deferred to squad leaders to best accommodate limited intelligence.
PHASE 6: Objective Bronze
- BAKER 1 establishes BOF position east of objective.
- BAKER 2 exploits southern flank with eastern fire support.
-- Following objective capture, BAKER 2 establishes northern BOF.
- Note: freedom of movement and positioning is deferred to squad leaders to best accommodate limited intelligence.
PHASE 7: Objectives Iron & Steel
- BAKER 1 flanks Objective Iron from the east, utilizing southern fire support.
-- Following objective capture, BAKER 1 establishes northeastern BOF.
- BAKER 2 seizes objective steel with eastern BOF support.
- Phase lines will be crossed only when fire support positions are established.
Administration/Logistics
Resupply- Squad resupply will be loaded into integrated AAV's. This load will sustain operations for the duration of the mission. Any need for additional carrying capacity should be communicated to BAKER 9. - Vehicle rearm, repair and refuel will be conducted through Blacksmith 4, as organized by Baker 8. - In the event of a vehicle detonation, replacement will be conducted by Blacksmith 4, coordinated by BAKER 8. - BLACKSMITH 4 Will also be prepared with demolition charges for port breach and equipment disposal.
Medical
- Platoon Medic will remain on standby for casualty care as coordinated through BAKER 8. - (PAK in field ON)
