--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationZargabad sits as the main passage point through the hilly region, with an MSR running North to South. We are to clear the town and it's adjacent military bases to support operations beyond the area. 5th team member for all teams will be unlocked if ORBAT is filled Mortar teams will use M1129 120mm Mortar Carriers
Friendly Forces
VOODOO Platoon with 2 rifle squads and 1 Weapon Team Supported by : ARCHER Stryker Mortar Section SPIRIT Logistics Team
Supporting Assets
Motor transport for insert and reinforcements Air Assets providing CAP in the area
Enemy Forces
Royal Army Corps of Sahrani, operating Western equipment Large infantry presence with dug in positions and strongholds. The city has been eveacuated of all civilians and is used as extensive defensive position. Mechanised and Heavy Armor platoons are operating from the military bases and are expected to be encountered on the outskirts of the city or as reinforcements.
Mission
TaskingEliminate the entrenched enemy and clear MSR GOLD to provide a corridor through the city.
End-state
Friendly positions set along MSR Gold. ALL CALLSIGNS regrouped.
Execution
Commander's IntentThe intent of this operation is to remove RACS presence in and around Zargabad, in particular the known enemy positions marked by intelligence staff at HQ. As with all city clearance/ heavy MOUT terrain, all elements must be ready and willing to adapt to changing circumstances and taskings.
Tasks and Sequencing
Phase 0: Transit and organisation. The platoon will be escorted by Strykers from an attached company for our initial transit to PLT WP1. Upon arrival at Shahbaz, logistics and indirect fire elements will set up an LRP for the first phase of the operation. Infantry will mount trucks assigned during the briefing- each Voodoo infantry element will travel in a transport truck each and will man the vehicles themselves. Voodoo 3 has the option of retaining their vehicle for transit between vantage points later in the mission. Platoon Sgt will organise initial route though first transit is expected to be short and simple. Phase 1: Clearance of Sectors 1-3 and the South CP. Sec 1 is a RACS military base. Under cover of Voodoo 3, Voodoo 1 + 2 will bound over to the West side of Sector 1 and begin pushing through. For the FOB itself one squad will enter with the other on security, to be decided at the time. Voodoo 3 may set up positions around a small cluster of hills at V3 OP1 or anywhere they decide provides better positioning to cover friendly elements crossing to Sec 1. After Sec 1, we will likely use cover of foliage between Sec 1 and 2 to approach Yarum. Once Yarum is clear, LOGPAK if needed then transition to the East side of the city for the main sweep. Voodoo 3 are to continue utilising any advantageous positions to provide weapon support to the platoon. Highpoints which may be useful are numbered throughout the city by intelligence staff. Phase 2: Sectors 4-7 and East Barracks. Beginning in Sec 4 and 5, the platoon will begin our sweep of the city proper. The East Barracks is the primary enemy position expected in Phase 2; however, whilst the city is clear of civilians the enemy has been setting up fortified structures. We expect many structures to be empty and the enemy focusing on defending key fortified structures- these will be the focus of clearing efforts as we push East to West through Zargabad. Phase 2 ends once the city East of MSR Gold is swept. Phase 3: Sectors 8-13 and optionally sector 14. West Barracks and Airfield are key positions in this phase. Continued city clearance by sector West of MSR Gold, assigned based on positioning and pace. Mosque which includes Highpoint 6 is empty of civilians and may be used by the enemy as a defensible position. We do not expect any enemy attack aircraft from the airfield so it may not be heavily defended. We will decide based upon recce whether we should take it as a platoon or with 1 squad. Phase 4: Optional phase for stretch objectives to the North of the city. Alternately, we will find fixed positions in the city and hold against any counter-attack. The stretch objectives include Sectors 15-16, North CP and Roden HQ. Transit to these positions will be requisitioned through Spirit 4.
