--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationFollowing recent heavy casualties in Hammer platoon, reserves have been brought to the front and our mechanized elements have finally been deployed. Blacksmith needs Green Valley secured in order to establish our authority to operate out of Saint-Pierre as our current ground Forward Headquarters. Hammer will deploy a light infantry platoon supported by two M2 Bradley IFVs and assault through enemy positions North-West through Green Valley. Enemy dug-in positions are expected, and recon points to the quarry being used as a makeshift hospital and supply depot. The town of Durras is expected to be heavily defended, and has been exchanging probing fire and recon attacks with Hammer platoon for the past day.
Friendly Forces
Light mechanized infantry platoon supported by 2x M2 Bradley IFV crews and a logistics detachment out of Banner.
Supporting Assets
Friendly forces holding Vernon and Pennants Pass. Regina to the West secured by Spear and holding firm. Friendly naval batteries are still on standby to the South but may be busy for portions of our operation due to conflict around the South-Western islands. Archer platoon- stationed in Montfort Castle- have set up M224 60mm, and M252 81mm mortar systems which will be on standby to provide assistance.
Enemy Forces
Everonian National Guard supported by Soviet troops. Expected light armed vehicles, IFVs and potentially MBTs; while currently available recce suggests there are no major motor pools in green valley, we do not yet have high-level imagery available of the military base to the North-West of the valley, wherein heavy armour may be stationed having reinforced from further North during the last day.
Mission
TaskingAssaulting North-West along MSR GREEN through enemy positions, your limit of advance will be the end of Millstone Creek to the North-West (halting before engaging the military base), and the end of the quarry position to the North-East. As mentioned previously, enemy forces have set up a makeshift field hospital which has been treating the recent influx of casualties which overwhelmed Everonian aid stations. They also appear to be storing a number of supplies in the quarry area. It is vital that we successfully capture the quarry location and prevent evacuation to deny the enemy supplies and soldiers. Any non-combatants that we can take as prisoners of war may provide vital intelligence once safely brought back from the front lines. Primary Tasking -Clear MSR GREEN through Green Valley, including enemy defensive positions/hold-outs. -Secure the town of Durras -Secure Green Valley quarry. Secondary Tasking -Secure POWs for debriefing by HQ personnel. -Gather in-field intelligence on enemy positions, compositions, strength and tactics to inform our future decisions.
End-state
Success- Green valley secured including the quarry. Failure- Enemy maintains positions in Green valley and fully evacuates the quarry of supplies and casualties.
Execution
Commander's IntentThe purpose of this mission is to conduct a decisive breach and effect a salient dictated by Green Valley through Levie.
Tasks and Sequencing
PHASE 0
ALL CALLSIGNS prepare for an M2 Bradley-mechanised advance from LD Vernon at Victor Line.
PHASE 1: OBJ C
From the LD, an initial survey of the Durras defensive line must dictate whether we assault AP1 or AP2.
Through all manoeuvres, Knight provides suppressive fire and eliminates HVT proactively.
AP1 (preferred)
Alternate bounding through key positions.
- Hammer 1 secures AP1
- Hammer 2 follows, establishes BOF at AP1
- Hammer 1 secures RV1
Pivot right; manoeuvres follow cover availability into the rear of the defensive line.
AP2
Alternate bounding through key positions with Knight in close support.
- Hammer 1 secures AP2
- Hammer 2 establishes BOF at AP2
- Knight moves to AP2 for covering fire north and west
Hammer alternates bounds to Mill Pond to secure a foothold at the intersection.
Sweep and clear Durras building by building with close-knit mutual support.
Maintain squad LOS and manoeuvring fire at all times.
Banner establishes RV1 ASAP.
The bridge beyond Durras marks Phase Line 1 only to be crossed when reconsolidated and replenished.
PHASE 2: OBJ D
AP4 (preferred)
Hammer manoeuvres to AP4 via the northeast flank of Durras to breach the defensive line at OBJ D.
Knight establishes at the bridge for suppression and freedom of movement as required.
Hammer bounds towards RV2 at the creek
PHASE 3: OBJ E
Administration/Logistics
ResupplyHAMMER and KNIGHT cross the LD fully loaded for an assault on OBJ C. BANNER is responsible for LOGPAK at the marked RV, as well as repairs, replacements and replenishment as required. Reinserts must be communicated to Banner for immediate transport from the rear.
Medical
All fielded medics must have the following equipment: - Bandages - Saline - Morphine - Epinephrine - Medkit The medkit, while supplies are available, dispenses consumables. It also heals injuries up to 50%. Severities over this must arrange MEDEVAC via BANNER.
Rules of Engagement
EPOW must be evacuated to the rear for timely pickup by BANNER and further processing.
Fire Support Plan
Calls for fire are to be requested via HAMMER 9/8 to BLACKSMITH ACTUAL.
