Background Information
FLASH MESSAGE – PRIORITY URGENT – IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED To: 2 PLATOON, B Company (CALLSIGN: HAVOC) From: HQ, Task Force NORTHSTAR SITREP: Over the past fortnight, British peacekeeping forces integrated within NATO’s Task Force NORTHSTAR in Northern Finland, have identified escalating military activity along the Russian border. Units observed are operating without identification or insignia. Diplomatic efforts to establish contact have repeatedly failed. Recent days have seen multiple probing incursions into Finnish territory. Initial incursions have been deterred by presence alone, but intelligence strongly suggests imminent escalation. CURRENT INTEL: At 2150 hrs, Forward reconnaissance team WATCHMAN reported a significant convoy staging immediately east of your location - approx 15 troop-carrying trucks, 8 BTRs and at least 3 T-90, no visible markings. WATCHMAN estimate strength at 350–400 personnel, battalion-sized combined arms element. Heightened aerial activity further east of assembly. No confirmed airspace violation at this stage. Intel suggests a diversionary movement preceding a larger coordinated incursion. ORDERS: HAVOC to execute immediate interdiction. Mine all likely incursion routes — focus on forest tracks and natural chokepoints. Set ambush positions with priority on anti-armour coverage. WATCHMAN will feed live movement data to refine placement. Terrain limits enemy manoeuvre options, but multiple approach vectors remain viable. Reinforcements mobilising - QRF and rotary will not reach your AO before first contact. Fast air and fires expected shortly. You are in the best position to block this advance.
