--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationDuring the early stages of Operation Torrent, friendly ANA forces were unable to maintain sectors flanking UNITAFs AO. Intelligence reports ISIL forces have made a breakthrough using the mountains North East of hostile Limari. UNITAF, feeling the pressure at Mikus FOB, have pulled back to FOB Homestead, a joint garrison where UNITAF is responsible for the southern sectors and restoration of local infrastructure and building of defensive positions.
- Enemy Forces estimated 300+ fighters active in the mountains, light and medium vehicles expected to be making way to the region following the breakthrough, but are not expected to be seen yet.
- Friendly Force Afghan National Army (ANA) within FOB Homestead
- Attached and Detachments Support Operations, M252 Fire Support
Mission
Tasking1st Platoon will conduct a patrol from FOB Homestead with EOD Support towards the South, in order to recon a village in Sector A(14-16). Friendly ANA forces went missing within this sector in the last couple days so 1st Platoon, if deemed safe to do so, should search all compounds within the sector. Hills 397 and 398, South of KaleNoowi may both prove advantageous positions to conduct reconnaissance from.
Should the platoon come into contact, it is to engage the enemy and proceed with the mission. If possible, the town of Ramir, within Sector B(12-15) should also be scouted for future missions. Once intel is gained on the location of missing forces, 1st Platoon is to establish defensive positions on Hill 276(141-145) and await ANA forces, at which point can return to FOB Homestead.
Execution
Tasks and Sequencing- Commander's Intent to locate and destroy enemy camps, forces and weapons caches, as well as locate missing ANA forces. The patrol will act a stepping stone towards UNITAFs involvement in the restoration of defense in the region.
