--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationBACKGROUND
INDONESIAN GOVERNMENT HAS FALLEN INTO DISARRAY, CAUSED BY THE PRESSURE OF THE RUSSIAN STATE. TO UPHOLD THE LAW AND THE “PEACE” THE KREMLIN HAS SOLD SIGNIFICANT ASSETS TO THE NOW COMMUNIST INDONESIA. AFTER FEW MONTHS OF TROUBLES BRUNEI, THE SMALL ISLAND STATE, HAS ASKED NATO FOR AN INTERNATIONAL ASSISTANCE FORCE TO PROTECT ITS SOVEREIGNTY. AND IN RECENT WEEKS, NATO AND MILITIA FACTIONS OF INDONESIAN FORCES HAVE BEEN EXCHANGING FIRE OVER THE BORDER.
CURRENT SITUATION
FOLLOWING THE INVASION OF BRUNEI, UNITAF FORCES SPEARHEADED A COUNTER-ASSUALT TO RE-CAPTURE KEY INSTALLATION OF BRUNEI, SECURING THE BRIDGE THAT LINKS BRUNEI WITH SOUTHERN INDONSEIA. HEAVY CASUALTIES WERE INCURRED, AND COMMANDERS ON THE GROUND HAVE RE-ITERATED THE SKILL OF THE ENEMY FORCE TO TROOP COMMANDERS LEADING UNITAF AND NATO FORCES.
ON WEDNESDAY, SPECIAL FORCES FROM THE CARRIER STRIKE GROUP ATTEMPTED TO CAPTURE ENEMY HUMAN INTELLIGENCE FROM MODDERGAT, IN AN OPERATION AUTHORISED BY THE TASK FORCE COMMANDING OFFICER, AN OPERATION WHICH ULTIMATELY FAILED, RESULTING IN AN OPERATOR BEING CAPTURED BY THE ENEMY FORCE, AND SEARCH-AND-RESCUE FORCES HAVING BEEN DEPLOYED TO RECOVER THE POW. HOWEVER, THE OPERATION YIELDED SOME KEY INTELLIGENCE ABOUT THE POSITION OF AN ENEMY TRAINING CAMP, BEING USED TO TRAIN MILITIA FIGHTERS IN SOUTHERN INDONESIA.
ENEMY FORCES
THE ENEMY FORCE IS WELL EQUIPPED, USING RUSSIAN EQUIPMENT AND MOSTLY MECHNANZIED, ALTHOUGH SOME INFANTRY UNITS HAVE BEEN ENCOUNTERED. NO AIR-ASSAULTS HAVE BEEN WITNESSED BUT THE ENEMY USES INTERCEPTOR FIGHTERS AND ATTACK HELICOPTERS FREQUENTLY WHEN OUR COMBAT AIR PATROLS ARE DISTANCED.
INTELLIGENCE INDICATES UP TO 1COY IN STRENGTH IN THE SECTOR IDENTIFIED FOR THIS DEPLOYMENT.
FRIENDLY FORCES
THE BRUNEI FORCES ARE STRETCHED, AND ARE ENTRENCHING THEIR FORCES ON THE NORTH SIDE OF BRUNEI AT THE BORDER CHECKPOINTS. BLUE-ON-BLUE INCIDENTS IN THE INVASION OF BRUNEI BETWEEN UNITAF FORCES AND BRUNEI MILITARY HAS CAUSED SOME TENSION AND POLITICAL FALLOUT.
