The Lieutenant Colonel is a battalion level senior officer, the LtCol will fill one of two possible roles in Command Staff, either as a Executive Officer (Battalion or Task Force) or as a Commanding Officer (Battalion or Task Force)
Depending on their role, the LtCol may report to a Colonel, and be supported by a Command Sergeant Major as they command the Companies of the Battalion or Task Force.
While they may not have a intricate day-to-day involvement in the operations of their unit, the LtCol will take particular interest in the selection of future leaders and training and development of the people under their command. As well as spending a considerable amount of time working to improve the unit.
In either case, LtCol has a large number of personnel under their command, in their role of Executive or Commanding officer they are responsible for the entirety of UNITAF, and therefore has a great many responsibilities.
Senior Officers are responsible for ensuring that UNITAF continues to be a healthy, engaging and exciting. They have full responsibility for the leadership and smooth running of the organisation.
