Situation
Background InformationWith the enemy forces successfully being driven out of Nalžovske Hory and the air station nearby, Knights from the 72nd are seizing the upper hand to continue their push south. Supported by friendly fixed wing, their aim is to liberate the strategically important town of Vlkonice.
Friendly Forces
1x Rifle Platoon Supported by: - 2x JAS 39 Gripen multirole fighter - Medical detachment
Supporting Assets
Friendly logistical company will re-supply when needed.
Enemy Forces
Mechanized infantry; - Dug-in positions - APC, IFV, MBTs - Arty support - Air support - Rotary helicopter support
Mission
TaskingLiberate the strategically important town of Vlkonice.
Execution
Commander's IntentThe purpose of this operation is to capture Vlkonice, secure the peripheral AO, and eliminate all resistance towards our objective.
Tasks and Sequencing
PHASE 0: Preparation - ALL CALLSIGNS ensure adequate supplies on person to last the duration of phase 2. -- Squad Leaders & Team Leaders will need UGL smoke for screening movement to Phase 4. -- Squad Medics should consider CMT availability before use of Norepinephrine and Phenylepinephrine. PHASE 1: Insertion - ALL CALLSIGNS mount into troop transports and depart for Dismount-A via RP-A. - BAKER 1 & BAKER 2 make use of wood line concealment for movement towards assigned sectors.
Actions on contact: push through.
PHASE 2: Liberation of Cernic
- BAKER 1 clears along marked alpha sectors.
- BAKER 2 clears along marked bravo sectors.
-- To account for town and sector irregularity, cohesion takes precedence over speed.
- Upon completion of sectors, BAKER 1 assumes defensive position to the east.
Resupply will be made available at LRP-A.
PHASE 3: Assault Preparation
- ALL CALLSIGNS stage for concealed movement at RP-B.
-- Upon reaching RP-B, ALL CALLSIGNS break towards Phase 4 assignments.
- BAKER 2 established a defendable BOF position to the south.
- BAKER 1 prepares to assault.
PHASE 4: Military Outpost
- ALL CALLSIGNS initiate heavy smokescreen of objective using UGL smoke.
- BAKER 2 initiates overwhelming fire and maintains fire superiority.
- BAKER 1 bounds towards southern outpost and begins sector clearance.
- With Baker 1 established, BAKER 2 moves to MSR and denies anticipated enemy QRF efforts.
- Upon sector clearance, ALL CALLSIGNS break contact towards RP-D.
Note: Speed of execution and withdrawal will be critical to maintaining MSR security.
PHASE 5: Flanking Movement
- ALL CALLSIGNS regroup on RP-D and commence movement towards LRP-B.
-- Platoon bounding will be used to cross exposed areas.
- Once resupplied, ALL CALLSIGNS depart towards RP-F
PHASE 6: Liberation of Vlkonice
- Flanking from the lesser-fortified west, ALL CALLSIGNS enter assigned sectors.
- BAKER 1 clears along marked alpha sectors.
- BAKER 2 clears along marked bravo sectors.
- Enhanced efforts attention should be made to clearing A6 in a timely manner, due to terrain advantages over B6.
Scheme of Air Operations
- Significant presence of enemy fixed-wing and rotary-wing assets are anticipated in the AO.
- As a product of hostile fortification efforts, frequent ground threats are anticipated in the peripheral areas of the towns.
- EAGLE 5's primary tasking will be establishing and maintaining air superiority for the GCE.
- Calls for CAS in the peripheral AO will be communicated through BAKER 7.
- Need for repair, rearm and refuel will be communicated through BAKER 7 and completed by CROSSROAD H.
Administration/Logistics
Resupply- Platoon resupply will be delivered through ground transport via CROSSROAD H, as coordinated by BAKER 9.
Medical
- Advanced medical care will be conducted by STARLIGHT 4 and coordinated through BAKER 8. - PAK in Field is OFF.
