Situation
Background InformationSituation Camp Carter is a remote outpost that has seen an increase in insurgent activity in the Rayak province since a drone strike resulted in significant civilian casualties. This has been characterized by occasional light attacks on the Camp and an increased presence of IEDs in the area. The indiscriminate placement of IEDs in civilian areas has claimed several civilian lives and has caused public opinion to sway against the insurgents. [callsign] has been rotated to Camp Carter following a masscas event rendering the previous element ineffective. Crossroads believes the insurgent threat is locally based and has made locating the IED factory top priority in order to reduce BLUFOR and civilian casualties – and to help restore good relations with the local populace.

No supporting forces in the AO beyond Camp security detail. A QRF can be expected within 30 minutes.
Enemy Forces
Previous engagements have been skirmishing attacks by light infantry and occasional technicals. The enemy is not expected to have access to vehicles beyond up-armored technicals.
Mission
TaskingTasking Perform a presence patrol through the towns of Millis, Salquin, and Nahlaya with the intent of reinforcing good relations with the locals and identifying the source of the increased IED presence in the AO. End State Success: Baker 1 has returned to Camp Carter having maintained good relations with locals and located the IED source or information leading to it. Failure: Baker 1 is unable
Execution
Commander's IntentThe purpose of this mission is to locate an insurgent IED factory, disable production capabilities and enhance relations with the civilian populace.
Tasks and Sequencing
PHASE 0: Preparation - ALL CALLSIGNS load adequate supplies into squad MRAP to sustain operations without external logistic support. -- Support engineer stages demining equipment and repair supplies in attached support vehicle.





Administration/Logistics
ResupplyExternal logistic support will be unavailable for the duration of this operation. ALL CALLSIGNS are to load all supplies required for the duration of the operation in the squad vehicle, BAKER 1-3
Medical
Complete medical support will be conducted via embedded support vehicles (PAK in vehicles only).

All EPWs are to be communicated to and prepared for extract towards secure territory.
