Situation

Background Information
In light of recent events, Squad element SHIELD 1 has been tasked with locating and destroying local Al Qaeda insurgent cells in the surrounding area of FOB Al Jaarah. To do this, meetings have been setup with village elders in Al Ubaidy and Rasheed. Supporting Assets
Khan Bani Saad Airfield will have medical evacuation on standby with ETA no longer than 5 minutes.

Enemy Forces
Al Qaeda forces, mostly small arms. May have static or vehicle mounted weapons. No OPFOR is suspected to be in Al Ubaidy or Rasheed. Regardless, they are expected to stay in their remaining strongholds.


Mission

Tasking
SHIELD 1 will bring humanitarian aid and meet with local village elders of Al Ubaidy and Rasheed. The purpose of these meetings is to learn the location of the remaining insurgent cells surrounding FOB Al Jaarah. We have the location of Al Ubaidy's elder; however, the home of Rasheed's elder is unknown.

End-state
Mission Complete: Successful meetings with the elders and grow relations. All insurgent cells near FOB Al Jaarah destroyed. If unable to locate or destroy the cells, fall back to FOB Al Jaarah for further instructions.


Execution

Commander's Intent
SHIELD 1 are to visit local village elders of Al Ubaidy and Rasheed to collate vital information of the Al Qaeda cells that attacked FOB Al Jaarah. With the information acquired from the village elders, SHIELD 1 must locate and eradicate the all insurgent cells! NOTE: Hearts and Minds This is not the a combat intensive OP.

Tasks and Sequencing
A) SHIELD 1 after briefing shall step off from FOB Jaarah in humvees following the blue route to Al Ubaidy. Once there SHIELD 1 will leave their vehicles at DP 1 and meet with the village elder at his compound marked on the map. B) Once SHIELD 1 has finished meeting the village elder at Al Ubaidy. They will mount back up and exit out of Al Ubaidy the same way they came from and follow the green route this time, into village Rasheed. Then SHIELD 1 will leave their vehicles at DP 2 to begin patrolling Rasheed due to the village elder's location being unknown. SHIELD 1-1 and SHIELD 1-2 will patrol their respected sectors as marked on the map. C) When all information has been gathered SHIELD 1 will plan mid operation on how to approach and assault all insurgent cells. NOTES: IEDs are expected to be around the AO, but intelligence informed us the mains MSRs are clear of IEDs. All personnel are expected to be respectful towards civilians to grow relations with the populace. This is not the a combat intensive OP.


Administration/Logistics

Resupply
ALL CALLSIGNS will be fully loaded according to the units SOP. These supplies will come from the staging area. ALL CALLSIGNS are to load their own LOGPAK into their respected humvees before step off.

Medical
- Medical support will be conducted in field (PAK in Field) - MEDEVAC is available by AIR conducted by UH-1Y Medical and requested via Squad Commander
