--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationHunter platoon from the Sokolovi brigade are conducing a rapid air insertion via rotary-wing assets (Mi-17) followed by immediate clearance of the airbase in preparation for friendly assets being delivered to fortify it. They are supported by two KA-52 attack helicopters tasked to suppress enemy positions and provide close air support during the mission. When the airfield is secured and friendly reinforcements have arrived to hold the airbase, their objective is to secure the immediate towns next to the airfield to secure a wider perimeter. Friendly forces will conduct land operations in order to drive some of QRF forces away, as well as a SF team the night before has mined the roads into the airbase to slow down enemy response.
Friendly Forces
Hunter Airborne Platoon Supported by; - 2x KA-52 attack helicopter - Logistical detachment
Supporting Assets
Friendly reinforcements will be deployed on the airfield once secure.
Enemy Forces
Guard Mechanized Infantry with tank and air support, possible artillery support, but the enemy wont use it on the airfield.
Mission
TaskingSieze the airfield, liberate the surrounding villages to secure out flank.
Execution
Tasks and SequencingConcept of Operations
The mission will be completed in 3 main phases.
1) AIRFIELD SEIZURE
Objective: Successfully seize the airfield Actions:
Hunter 1 will be tasked with seizing the orange sectors on the airfield.
Hunter 1 lands at LZ D, F or E in that preference order, and is from there expected to seize sectors O1 and O2 in order, ensuring to remain relatively parallel with HUNTER 2 in order to prevent attempts by the OPFOR to isolate the squads from each other.
HUNTER 1 is expected to support HUNTER 2 when they are making the move to V2.
Hunter 2 will be tasked with seizing the blue sectors on the airfield.
Hunter 2 lands at LZ A, B or C in that preference order, and is from there expected to seize sectors V1 and V2 in order, ensuring to remain relatively parallel with HUNTER 2 in order to prevent attempts by the OPFOR to isolate the squads from each other.
When moving to V2, Hunter 2 is expected to conduct good danger area crossings in accordance with the FM, and must communicate with HUNTER 1 for support.
Upon INFIL, THUNDERBIRD will be tasked with free engagement of these assets in the following order:
1. Any missions provided by FAC
2. Any remaining anti-air assets in the AO
3. Any active OPFOR air assets at or around the airbase
4. Any active OPFOR vehicles and force multipliers at or approaching the airbase
Once troops have landed, THUNDERBIRD will only engage approved targets on the airbase itself, but remains free to engage any assets listed above up to 1 click from the airbase boundaries. THUNDERBIRD should keep an extra eye on quick INFIL routes, particularly named MSRs and ASRs.
Note that direct FAC orders supersede any of these guidelines.
PHASE 1 completes when all airbase sectors have been secured and ACE reports have been forwarded to HUNTER 8.
2) MOVEMENT TO KVILDA
Objective: Set up for attack on Kvilda Actions:
Hunter 1 and Hunter 2 will coordinate movement towards ORP MARS, just northwest of Mt. Lapka. Any resistance along the way will be dealt with as appropriate.
THUNDERBIRD continues their mission as detailed in phase 1, with guidance from FAC.
PHASE 2 completes when the platoon is securely at ORP MARS and ACE reports have been forwarded to HUNTER 8.
3) SEIZURE OF KVILDA
Objective: Seize Kvilda in order to prevent any pockets of enemy resistance to the southeast of the airbase Actions: Hunter 1 moves on the north side of Mt. Lapka to investigate possible enemy artillery base, before they move on to V3 and clear that sector. Hunter 1 remains relatively parallel with HUNTER 2 in order to prevent attempts by the OPFOR to isolate the squads from each other. Assume all houses needs clearing. Hunter 2 moves on the southwestern side of Mt. Lapka to investigate possible enemy artillery base, before they move on to O3 and clear that sector. Hunter 2 remains relatively parallel with HUNTER 1 in order to prevent attempts by the OPFOR to isolate the squads from each other. Assume all houses needs clearing. THUNDERBIRD continues their mission as detailed in phase 1, with guidance from FAC.Administration/Logistics
ResupplyBLACKSMITH, through its two pilots, flies HUNTER 1 and HUNTER 2 into the AO during INFIL, in close cooperation with THUNDERBIRD and FAC. Helicopter with HUNTER 1 prioritises LZ D, E then F in that order. Helicopter with HUNTER 2 prioritises LZ A, B then C in that order. Upon successful INFIL, BLACKSMITH returns to Reforšk to start preparing for logistical hauls to the airbase when the airbase has been secured. Once the airbase has been secured, BLACKSMITH starts shipping in equipment and other supplies and vehicles (if possible) to the airbase, to ensure quick operationalisation of the airbase. BLACKSMITH will also be tasked with resupply of friendly troops, and will have to make plans for this as soon as the airfield is adequately secure. The unit should develop a Plan B in case their support is required before the airfield is completely secure.
