Loss of communication should not automatically stop an operation. Elements should continue according to the last confirmed orders, commander’s intent, established control measures and the PACE plan.
Subordinate leaders should:
- Attempt each PACE method in order
- Continue achievable tasks within commander’s intent
- Avoid actions requiring unavailable coordination
- Remain within assigned boundaries and restrictions
- Move to a designated RV or reporting point when required
- Re-establish communication as soon as practical
