Land on flat terrain:

  • Flare to lose horizontal momentum just before landing
  • Level out the aircraft to prevent a tail rotor strike
  • Lower the collective to a safe descent rate for the final couple of meters
  • After touching the ground, keep the collective lowered until engine shut-off or taking off
